I Don’t Like Mondays
Actually, that’s not true. In much the same way that I prefer sunrise to sunset, I love the start of a new week. It’s a chance for a reset, an opportunity to plan fresh adventures and the beginning of a whole new chapter of your life.
Despite it being a bank holiday I’m off to work today. There are no bank holidays on the railway, at least not for staff. It’s also my final week mentoring a trainee which has been an interesting experience. Maybe I’ll blog about that sometime.
In an effort to avoid the usual indecision over what to play during the drive to work, I’ve preselected the new album from Evanescence, ‘The Bitter Truth’, which was released a week or so ago. Its been 4 years since their last production and there was a 7 year wait for that. They clearly value quality over quantity.
I’m curious to see how they’ve developed during this hiatus and how Amy Lee’s solo project and other collaborations might impact the band’s style.
I’ll get round to reviewing it at some point but, in the meantime, if you’d like to listen to the finest voice in goth rock, I’ll link it up below.
